Pretoria - World leaders, dignitaries and others have delivered congratulations on the opening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Sunday. In messages addressed to Xi Jinping or the CPC Central Committee, they spoke highly of the development and progress China had achieved in its various causes under the leadership of the CPC.
Cyril Ramaphosa, president of South Africa and the ANC, said the ANC cherished the brotherly friendship with the CPC, adding that solidarity and common values were the solid foundation of ties.
In a world that is changing constantly, Ramaphosa said the CPC and ANC would seize the opportunities and meet the challenges. Ramaphosa said he expected constructive results from the 20th CPC National Congress, aiming to promote the CPC to develop and grow and head toward common prosperity for all.
Alberto Fernández, president of Argentina and the Justicialist Party, said the key to China’s major achievements in economic and social development was the strong leadership of the CPC.
Under Xi Jinping’s guidance, the CPC has forged ahead and achieved remarkable achievements in various fields including poverty alleviation, scientific and technological innovation and the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, he said.
Fernández said China and Argentina would forge ahead along the road of win-win co-operation.
Ranil Wickremesinghe, president of Sri Lanka and leader of the United National Party (UNP), said the UNP shared a long-standing friendship with the CPC and carried out friendly exchanges before the two countries established diplomatic relations.
Relations between the two parties are sincere and friendly, which has played an important role in promoting bilateral ties and well-being for the Chinese and Sri Lankan people, Wickremesinghe said.
Under the CPC’s able leadership, the Chinese people’s achievements in socio-economic development and national modernisation amazed the world, Emomali Rahmon, president of Tajikistan and leader of the People’s Democratic Party, said. Ties between Tajikistan and China are developing smoothly under the comprehensive strategic partnership featuring a high-level of friendliness, good neighbourliness and mutually beneficial co-operation, Rahmon said.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, also chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, said the 20th CPC National Congress was a major political event amid the CPC’s domestic and international achievements.
Abbas praised China’s success in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, poverty alleviation and pollution prevention and control, adding that China was leading the world in fields including technology, economy and education.
Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov believes the resolutions adopted by the congress will further promote China’s development and prosperity.
Fully supporting the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by Xi Jinping, Japarov said Kyrgyzstan would continue working with China on high-level exchanges, deepening practical co-operation in various fields, strengthening connection and co-ordination in international and regional matters and promoting the bilateral ties to move forward.
Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene, prime minister of Mongolia and chairman of the Mongolian People’s Party, said, as one of the world’s largest economies, China announced to the world that the battle against poverty achieved a full victory and a moderately prosperous society in all respects had been built.
The CPC has performed the duty and mission of leading national development remarkably, he added.
Under the leadership of Xi Jinping and unity and efforts from all CPC members, China has made outstanding accomplishments in various fields, heading towards building a modern socialist country in all respects, Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of United Russia and deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, noted.
Marcel Ciolacu, chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Romania and president of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania, said the future development goals made by the 20th CPC National Congress would practically advance the well-being of the Chinese people and safeguard world peace and stability.
