The Rockets Lifestyle group keeps expanding and growing - from successful restaurants, nightclubs, beauty and grooming and now media studios.

Rockets Lifestyle is known for its premium lifestyle entertainment, experiences, and music, across all of their branches Bryanston, Menlyn and Umhlanga Rocks.

Visionary owner and founder, Sean Barber, launched the state-of-the-art studio space, this September.

Barber’s late friend award-winning rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes is among the artists that inspired the idea of the studio space located on the ground floor of the Bryanston location.

AKA, and many of Barber’s guests, who are successful recording artists, would often be inspired while at Rockets but lacked an immediate outlet to capture their creative flow.

This inspired the creation of a dedicated studio space that not only nurtures spontaneous creativity but also serves as a hub for artist development.

Central to this initiative is the label “Dance Afrika,” where artists signed under this brand will have access to comprehensive development opportunities.

This new venture includes a fully integrated Radio Station, Record Label, and Artist Agency, all contributing to a 360-degree, premium music and lifestyle celebration.

This includes the unique advantage of performing at various Rockets Clubs, effectively creating an artist development ecosystem within the Rockets brand.

Barber explained under Rockets Media, they would create content, package it and sell it. The studio allows premium recordings of music, podcasts.

Metro FM presenter DJ Sabby’s new podcast is filmed, edited and packaged at the studio.

“We can make songs here, produce them and play them upstairs. I can quite honestly say that it is the first restaurant brand that has done this.”

The Pioneer DJ school has also been launched at Rockets Media speaking to its goals of nurturing talent.
