It is that time of year again when you can raise a glass and celebrate incredible food, at the Pick n Pay Wine and Food Festival.

After a two year hiatus following the pandemic, this year’s festival is set to honour the country’s best winemakers.

The event will be hosted at the Kenilworth Racecourse from April 31 to May 1, so it’s the perfect way to spend your long weekend.

This year’s festivities will feature a range of new wines and must-have favourites that many have grown to love over the years.

General access ticket costs R200 which includes a one-day pass, wine-tasting, live entertainment and the chance to purchase wine and food.

The tasting room ticket includes all the general access benefits, along with a 30 minute pre-booked wine and canapé pairing by professional chefs and expert winemakers.

Those in attendance will be spoilt for choice as more than 40 estates from wine-producing regions across the country will be represented at the event.

All wine will be sold at cellar door prices.

Head of Pick n Pay Liquor, Gavin Levers said the collaborations between the brands represented at the festival, and the store, has cemented their position as the ‘home of the South African wine’.

“We are excited to bring our customers even more choices and fine wine at the most affordable prices,” he said.

“South African wines have an exceptional story to tell and what better way to tell it than in person, at a fully interactive food and wine experience?”.

Some of the exclusive wines on offer on the day include brands like Bellingham, Jacques Steytler, Jacques Mouton, Pongracz and Simonsig.

Bubbly lovers can enjoy cap classique, champagne and sparkling wine.

The food aspect of the festival will be presented by the all-new Pick n Pay Gourmet Food Lane.

Food will be prepared by gourmet chefs and includes a burger track and a coffee trailer.

If the festival ever feels too busy, one can simply buy some wine and food and relax under the trees while enjoying live music by popular local musicians.

Tickets for the event can be purchased in-store at a Pick n Pay money counter or via Webtickets.
