In a world where the extraordinary and the imaginative reign supreme, the College of Magic stands tall as a bastion of creativity and performance. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Cape Town, this esteemed institution has spent over four decades nurturing the talents of aspiring magicians, entertainers, and performers from all walks of life.

As part of its mission to inspire creativity and build confidence among the youth, the College is thrilled to announce its new range of courses for aspiring magicians, alongside an exciting opportunity to delve into the magical realm firsthand.

On Saturday, 8 and 15 February 2025, the College of Magic invites the public to its much-anticipated Open Day—a delightful experience where participants can engage in a free tour and interactive workshop that promises to ignite curiosity and wonder. With spaces limited, aspiring magicians are encouraged to secure their spots early to partake in this immersive encounter with the art of magic.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore the College’s historic building, gain access to its magical classrooms and performance spaces, and learn about its fascinating history. Under the guidance of expert instructors, attendees can experience the thrill of learning their very first magic trick—a perfect activity for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Participants can also get to know the dedicated team of instructors and connect with talented students who have been transformed by the magical education offered at the College.

Located at 215 Imam Haron Road, Claremont, the Open Day sessions will take place from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM, with free admission. However, booking is essential. To ensure your place, prospective attendees can email [email protected] or WhatsApp 062 519 1177.

After experiencing the magic firsthand, participants will have the chance to enrol in one of the College's comprehensive courses. These include an introductory course tailored for young learners aged 10-14, comprising 15 fun and engaging 45-minute lessons on Saturday mornings, as well as a more advanced course focused on magic and showmanship for high school students, comprising 30 dynamic 1-hour sessions.

"We’re passionate about empowering our students to think creatively, build confidence, and inspire others. This free tour and workshop is the perfect way to start a lifelong magical journey."

Founded in 1980, the College of Magic is not just a school for budding magicians; it’s a nonprofit organisation dedicated to teaching the art of magic and performance while fostering essential life skills. With a rich legacy of inspiring countless students—including notable alumni such as comedians Stuart Taylor, Riaad Moosa, and mentalist Larry Soffer—the College embodies a unique blend of magical education and transformative personal development.
