A Reservoir Hills father, whose son was killed on Inanda Highway in Newlands, is appealing to anyone who might have seen what happened to come forward.

Maldon Suknandan, 20, was travelling on the highway in a white Opel Corsa bakkie on November 18.

Prem Balram, the head of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), said: "It is believed that he was travelling at a high speed and his vehicle left the road, overturned and crashed through a fence before landing on Barvale Drive."

He said paramedics were called to the scene and found that he had critical injuries.

"He was stabilised and taken to hospital, but he was declared deceased on arrival. His father, Raj Suknandan, contacted Rusa for assistance after he was informed by the funeral parlour that medical reports stipulated that his son was killed due to a gunshot wound to the head."

Balram said since then Suknandan had been searching for answers leading up to his son’s death.

"He acquired a witness, who stated that following the crash they heard gunshots in the vicinity of the wreckage. It is believed that Maldon travelling from KwaMashu to Clare Estate at the time of the incident."
