*Recipe: Immune-boosting tea
Add 1 cup water to a pot.
Add 2 to 3 tulsi leaves (holy basil) and a pinch of cinnamon powder, a pinch of black pepper powder and a ¼ teaspoon of ginger powder. Then add 10 black raisins.
Bring to a boil and then remove from the stove. Add jaggery (natural sugar) and/or fresh lemon juice for your taste, if needed.
*This can be enjoyed once or twice a day
*Tips and recipe: Skin Detox
* Follow an Ayurvedic daily regimen.
* Include a balanced diet, rich in vegetables, pulses and fruit.
* Avoid excess amounts of sweet, spicy, oily and greasy foods.
* Consume foods that are rich sources of vitamin A, C and E.
* Wash your face with cool water.
* Avoid the use of products that have harmful chemicals in them. Look for sulphate-and paraben-free products.
*RECIPE: Try this traditional Ayurvedic formula for naturally glowing skin at least twice a week.
* Half teaspoon multani mitti (a mineral-rich clay-like substance).
* Half teaspoon sandalwood powder.
* Add rose water (enough to make a paste).
* Apply with a make-up brush and wait for it to dry.
* Once dry, wash your face with cool water.
* Pat dry and apply coconut oil.
*Tips How to revive dull hair and keep it healthy
* Avoid washing your hair with hot water, rather use lukewarm water.
* Use amla or bhringraj oil twice a week. Massage it into your scalp.
* Use shampoos and conditioners that are sulphate- and paraben-free.
* Meditation is the key to managing stress and healthy hair, so do it daily.
* Include healthy fats such as ghee and nuts.
Recipe: Aloe vera hair mask
Aloe vera is known for its restoration properties that keep the hair strong and healthy.
You can apply aloe vera gel directly to your scalp and hair and rinse it off after 20 minutes.
Aloe vera can also be mixed with coconut or almond oil for better results.
