WomenCan, an innovative women empowerment platform is proud to announce The State of Women Address (SOWA), a movement to unite voices from across genders for a transformative dialogue with the aim of driving actionable solutions on multi-faceted issues that deeply affect women today.

Taking place on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2025 at Pere House in Midrand, SOWA will bring together women and men networks, organisations, and individuals committed to driving meaningful change and progress for women.

Keynote address will be delivered by General Riah Phiyega discussing multi-faceted issues affecting women ranging from diversity and Inclusion, gender pay gap, mental health, financial wellness, women empowerment and entrepreneurship.

“SOWA is deliberately designed to be a sustainable and scalable movement that empowers women across diverse spheres. Our initiative is rooted in the belief that meaningful change requires a collective effort. Only through collaboration, can we amplify marginalised voices, bridge gaps in understanding, and co-create strategies that address the systemic roots of gender disparities,” says WomenCan Founder, Tumi Mthembu.

Facilitated by an advocate for women empowerment, Olwethu Leshabane and radio veteran Thabo ‘Tbose’ Mokwele, attendees can look forward to panel discussions from inspiring female and male leaders curated for collaboration to inspire and ignite change.
