Renowned international three-step pioneer, Thakzin, is getting ahead of the game with his new single, “IThuba”.
The celebrated musician and producer has teamed up with soul-singer Simmy and the mysterious music producer, Hyenah, on the summer banger, which dropped on Friday, August 30.
The two played at major festivals such as Ultra, Spring Fiesta, El-World Festival and Kunye, gained popularity for his genre-bending global sound, which combines progressive South African genres with elements of African culture, mixed global urban and electronic influences.
According to a statement: “The collaboration seamlessly fuses Thakzin's innovative production style with Simmy's captivating vocals and Hyenah's deep, afro-house beats, to create a sound that is both fresh and deeply rooted in African musical traditions.”
Meanwhile, the KZN-born neo-soul singer, Simmy, who has quickly carved a distinctive position in the music industry, has also been hard at work.
“IThuba” will be the second collaboration the singer drops this month.
She also recently teamed up with musician and producer Mpho Mohlong, popularly known as Mpho.Wav to drop a heartfelt ballad titled, “Emini”.
Over her short career, Simmy has worked with several top South African musicians including, Sun-EL Musician and Mafikizolo among others.
Thakzin, who has been making waves on the global stage with his recent tours and chart-topping hits said working with Simmy and Hyenah has been an “incredible experience”.

The internationally acclaimed DJ will be sure to promote this South Africa banger by playing it at his forthcoming gigs in La Reunion, Cologne, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich and Lisbon.
