Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr has admitted the club are still interested in bringing Bafana Bafana winger Oswin Appollis to the club.
Polokwane City’s Appollis impressed last, ad attracted the interests of a number of top clubs after cementing his place in the national team.
In the current transfer window that closes on September 20, Chiefs’ pursuit of the 23-year-old has hit a brick wall with the club’s chairman refusing to sell him to the Soweto giants.
Speaking to Robert Marawa on MSW on 947 on Wednesday night, Motaung said they still in conversation with the Polokwane City chairman trying to get a deal done.
“What I can say about Appollis is I don’t know any club in the country who wouldn’t want to sign Oswin,” Motaung Jr told Marawa.
“We know we need to get the best talent to achieve our goals. He’s a top player and we’re working tirelessly to bring top players to the club.
“We’d love to have him, we’ve had talks with the chairman of Polokwane City, not only about Oswin, other players also. It’s a process that’s ongoing.
“I understand when coaches get frustrated if clubs mentioning their players in the media, we respectfully don’t do that but it doesn’t mean we’re not working as hard as we can on bringing these top talents.”
