With the new season fast approaching, Kaizer Motaung Jr says Kaizer Chiefs’ activity in the transfer market is not yet complete.

The Soweto giants have already completed deals to sign Rushwin Dortley, Bongani Sam, and Fiacre Ntwari as they strengthen Nasreddine Nabi’s team.

Speaking at the club’s jersey launch on Thursday night, sporting director Motaung said they were looking to add a bit of experience to their young squad.

“We’re definitely not done in the transfer market because there are some glaring positions in the squad that we need to reinforce,” Motaung said, according to Hollywoodbets.

“We have a young squad at the moment in time. I think it’s a squad that needs a bit of experience, and a bit of quality. So, we are very mindful of the demands placed on what’s coming next season.

“So, to answer the question, we’re working behind the scenes, day and night to make sure that we reinforce, we need to reinforce, we’ve gotten a bit of a clear roadmap of the kind of player we need in what positions,” he said.

At the conclusion of last season, in which Chiefs finished 10th, the club said goodbye to a number of players who were deemed surplus to requirement.

Keagan Dolly, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo, and Sifiso Hlanti were all let go as the club looks to the future.

There has also been speculation surrounding Itumeleng Khune’s future, whose contract expired at the end of last season. The veteran goalkeeper has not been offered a new contract, but he and the club remain coy over their next steps.
