Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Thursday revealed the rest of Nasreddine Nabi’s technical team following the Tunisian’s appointment as head coach.
Nabi’s appointment was made official on Sunday night after his departure from Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat was finalised, and the 58-year-old has gone straight to work to return the club to their glory days.
As previously reported, Nabi will work with assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Fernando Da Cruz. Ilyes Mzoughi is the goalkeeper coach, while Safi Majdi will serve as strength and conditioning coach, as well as assistant coach.
“After what has been a fairly exhaustive vetting process, it gives us great pleasure to finally welcome our new head coach to Kaizer Chiefs,” sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr said in a statement on the club’s website on Thursday.
“We believe we have found the right man to fulfil our vision of restoring Amakhosi to our rightful place at the top of the football pyramid, and we welcome coach Nabi and his technical team with the pledge of unity and support in pursuit of our common goal.”
Motaung Jr’s view was shared by the club’s marketing director Jessica Motaung earlier this week.

“We believe that we’ve done all the work to make sure that we have the right team, the right coach, to make sure that we take Chiefs to the next level,” Jessica Motaung said.
Kaizer Chiefs are currently on a pre-season tour to Turkey where they are preparing for the upcoming football season.
While no games have been confirmed during their trip to Turkey, Amakhosi will be playing against Nabi’s former Tanzanian side Young Africans in a pre-season Toyota Cup clash in Bloemfontein on July 28.
