Kold AF, real name Anino Alero Oritsesan has always had a passion for music. However, her journey to the spotlight has been anything but easy.
When asked about her path, she says, “It’s been full of growth and it shows. There have been obstacles, tough days, weeks and moments when I questioned everything but that clearly never stopped me, thank God,” she says.
The 23-year-old sensation hailing from Delta, Nigeria, describes her sound as a fusion of beauty and several elements of genres that she loves and delivers in her own way. Kold AF paints it as a reflection of her diverse influences and experiences. “I’m fusing dancehall, afro-pop and a lot more but I’ll always surprise you,” she says.
She entered the music scene with her debut two pack single project, Kold Szn, which is a blend of dancehall and afrobeats.
When asked how she’s staking her claim in the music industry, she confidently states, “There’s no one like me. Sonically and looks wise and I’m glad that I started achieving this by really understanding myself and coming into who I truly am,” the artist says.
As she continues to rise, she has her sights set on future collaborations with artists such as Burna Boy, Yebba, Rema and Coldplay, to name a few. These are the artists she feels can mesh well with her as she admires their craft.
With the release of her latest single, Manyana and more projects on the horizon, Kold AF is proving she’s a force to be reckoned with in the African music scene. Her journey may have just begun, but her vision and talent are sure to take her across borders.
