Showtime Management along with How Now Brown Cow Productions bring the multi-award winning and internationally acclaimed musical, Dear Evan Hansen to South Africa with a Mzansi twist in production.

The South African musical adaptation’s soon-to-be announced cast will surely be a multi-talented one as it will give the finest South African talents on and off stage as well as behind the scenes to present a touching, heartfelt story accompanied by powerful, unforgettable songs.

Hazel Feldman from Showtime Management shares how delighted she and her team are to work alongside Julie-Anne McDowell and Daniel Galloway. “We are delighted to co-produce a non-replica version of this internationally acclaimed musical with How Now Brown Cow Productions,” Feldman says.

Based on a true story, “Dear Evan Hansen” is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Grammy, Tony and Academy Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. It centres Evan Hansen, a high schooler dealing with social anxiety who later creates a significant role for himself in a tragedy that he wasn’t originally a part of. It also features a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Hazel Feldman and her dynamic Showtime Management Team to bring this multi award-winning, moving and powerful story to South Africa. We can’t wait to welcome you to experience this relevant and relatable piece of musical theatre,” says Julie-Anne McDowell and Daniel Galloway of How Now Brown Cow Productions.

Musical and Film enthusiasts can look forward to seeing the reimagined production of the internationally acclaimed musical at Artscape, Cape Town from 2025 February 12 to March 9 and then at Teatro, Montecasino, Johannesburg from 2025 March 15 to April 13.
